The Gamer Lounge

That’s the question I’ve been asking myself.  I paid a decent amount of time and money to get this site up and running, and then I just forgot about it.  Well, the truth is I’ve been doing a lot of work…I just haven’t uploaded it to this site.  Most of my attention is now being put toward film making/video editing, and I’m not doing as much audio work as I did in the past.  However, because I want to start writing more in 2010, I do plan on actually updating these blogs now.

Because I wanted to quickly and easily show you guys all the videos I have been making lately, I’ve created a Facebook fan page complete with links to a few videos, and then a link to my Facebook page which has over 100.  If you like anything I’ve done so far, do me an awesome favor and become a fan of Lukargo Films!

Lukargo Films

As you may have noticed, I’ve been missing in action for more than a month now.  Believe it or not, I actually have a fairly good reason.  College started which took up a lot of time, and there was a death in the family.  Luckily it wasn’t close family, but it still isn’t exactly a joyous occasion.  The funeral is tomorrow, actually.

There hasn’t been a new episode of The Gamer Lounge, Luke’s Ramblings or even a new blog post!  That’s all going to change starting tomorrow.  Quite a bit has happened both movie and gaming wise, and I’m going to share that with you!  There will be a new blog post for sure tomorrow, and new podcast episode sometime this week.  It’s good to be back!

I’ve made it home and share with you my thoughts on Rock Band and Hero of Sparta!  There’s even a sneak peek of a future blog post.  :-O

These “Luke’s Ramblings” have really been a blast for me to make, so expect more of them in the future.  I’m planning on having at least one a week, and a maximum of three.

One quick other note:  I’ve changed the RSS feed to a feedburner feed just so it’s easier for everyone if I ever switch where I host my audio.  This puppy will be in iTunes soon!

Now that its been out for a few years, you’d figure I, a gaming blogger, would have had the chance to try out a Playstation 3 long ago.  Well, actually, yesterday was my first experience with one.  Does it beat the Xbox 360?  Read on after the break to find out.

Howdy all, I’m just chiming in to let you know that I’ll be heading out of state for awhile for a nice little family vacation.  I do still plan to put up a few blog posts, and we do still plan on getting a new episode out this Sunday.  However, please forgive my lower sound quality this week, because I’m not taking such a fragile mixer and microphone with me!  I’ll most likely just be recording with the MacBook’s built in Mic, and Larry will be doing the recording this time.

So like a good little reviewer, I knew I should finish the game before I finialized my thoughts about it. However, I am royally getting my ass handed to me in the Lava World level of the game! I have an idea now of how to get past it, but a save before you fight the dragon would sure be nice!

On another note, I’m actually going to see Tropic Thunder tonight. I’ll finally have a movie to talk about!

Update: I finally got past lava world!  I’ve finished the ice world as well, so I’m about done with the game.  Hopefully I can finish by tomorrow or the day after and get a review up!

Want to see the best gun in the game? Then click the above picture to make it bigger! So after slowly making progress through the game since Christmas, I finally beat the game. Since I picked up Orange Box, Episode 1 and 2 are soon to follow on the game beatin’ schedule. After playing through this game, I really must say it easily lives up to all the high ratings it received. Even today after playing beautiful games like Gears of War, this game still looks and plays great on any decent PC out there.

Let’s take a look back, shall we? This game was officially released on November 16, 2004. (Almost four years ago already!) Then the Xbox 360 came out in 2005 around the same time Half-Life 2 did. The important difference? HL2 was out on the PC looking great a whole year before the 360 came out. While I do own a Xbox 360, it’s always good to look back sometimes and see how much better the PC was and always will be. If you can afford the upgrades that is…
