Luke’s Ramblings – Rock Band of Sparta!

I’ve made it home and share with you my thoughts on Rock Band and Hero of Sparta!  There’s even a sneak peek of a future blog post.  :-O

These “Luke’s Ramblings” have really been a blast for me to make, so expect more of them in the future.  I’m planning on having at least one a week, and a maximum of three.

One quick other note:  I’ve changed the RSS feed to a feedburner feed just so it’s easier for everyone if I ever switch where I host my audio.  This puppy will be in iTunes soon!

Even Gods Like Achievements

There are thousands of apps on the app store, but few (if any) have as many consistent and fun updates as Pocket God does.  What was simply a random purchase for me, ended up becoming one of my favorite apps.  As much as I love Pandora, I could care less when it updates.  But Pocket God?  That I must download as fast as possible!  :-)

As I’ve mentioned on the podcast a few times, achievements are starting to grow on me more and more everyday.  They make you try things you normally wouldn’t in a game, and give you a reason to keep playing long after you beat it.  Granted, Pocket God isn’t necessarily something you’ll sit down and play for an hour straight, but it does keep you occupied for a few minutes which is what should be the goal of all mobile games.  This new addition of achievements just adds a little bit more fun and incentive to play.  Long line at the grocery store?  Pull out your iPod/iPhone and try to get more than 5 shark snaps!

Now I know the T-Rex battle was not added on this update, but, oh, is it fun! I have tons of apps on my iPod Touch now, but I often just don’t have the time some of them require to get some fun out of them.  A quick 30 second battle with a T-Rex is, however, always a fast and easy way to past time.

I leave you with this.  Pocket God only costs $.99, and it’s probably the best buck you’ll ever spend.

A Bit of Art

(Click on picture for the big version)

While this probably won’t be replacing our album art any time soon, I thought I’d share this with you.  As you can see, well, um, I’m not exactly a Photoshop master yet.

Marble Blast Mobile!

After playing the Xbox 360 version of the title, I was quite please to see this sitting on the featured page of the mobile app store.  At $4.99 this thing is a steal, and I recommend you try it out.  I made a little audio review I though I would share with you:

New Logo and Podcast News

After some peer review we have decided this logo is a better fit for the podcast. Well what do you know, it even fits with the banner! :-D

*Click the picture for the big version*

You can thank the wonderful makers of Iron Man, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and Ninja Gaiden for those amazing pictures. (Must give credit where it’s do you know) Photoshop did all the rest!

Now I’m sure you’re all wondering when you’re actually going to hear an episode of the podcast this blog is supposed to be for. Well that sounds like it’s going to be tomorrow night people! The .mp3 will be up here before it’s even hosted in iTunes along with some RSS feed locations.
